About Me :)
Hi, I’m Alisa! I’m currently a 4th year PhD Candidate in the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford University. I work in the Neural Interaction Lab. I am currently a Bio-X Food Fellow, Graduate Community Engaged Teaching Fellow, and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. I am currently president of Stanford’s Graduate Society of Women Engineers.
I’m a huge advocate for STEM accessibility, both in making research tools more affordable, and in helping students see themselves as people who can build things that matter. I believe deeply in the power of mentorship and try to create spaces where students feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to ask their own questions. Whether I’m in the lab, teaching, or working with community partners, I hope to show up with curiosity, care, and optimism, and with the belief that technical work is at its best when it’s done with people and communities in mind. I’m hopeful about what we can build together when engineering meets empathy!
